Midwives Association of British Columbia

BC Midwifery services are covered at no cost to women with a BC Care Card. Women can choose to deliver their babies either at home or in the hospital with a BC midwife; no referral is necessary.

A doula is a woman experienced in childbirth, who provides strength, knowledge and comfort to the birthing woman during her pregnancy, birth and postpartum.

PCEC "1000 X 5" Children’s Book Recycling Project
The PCEC “1000 X 5” Children’s Book Recycling Project was started in April 2008. Through this initiative, gently-used children’s picture books are collected from the community. The books are delivered to our collection depot where they are screened for suitability, counted, labelled, sorted, and bagged for distribution to young children (birth-5 years) and their families.
