New Parent Information: VIHA Public Health

Public Health Nurses offer postpartum home visits, breastfeeding support, Child Health Conferences and immunization, postpartum depression screening, and infant education and support.

Prevention staff offer speech, hearing, nutrition, and dental services. Health services are available free of charge for individuals and families at your local Health Unit.

PCEC "1000 X 5" Children’s Book Recycling Project

The PCEC “1000 X 5” Children’s Book Recycling Project was started in April 2008. Through this initiative, gently-used children’s picture books are collected from the community. The books are delivered to our collection depot where they are screened for suitability, counted, labelled, sorted, and bagged for distribution to young children (birth-5 years) and their families.
